7 Stories: an evening of stimulating tales.

2 minute read

When was the last time you heard a truly great story? That made you listen, made you think, and made you feel?

We asked ourselves the same questions, and for that reason we’ve decided to organise a new event focusing on inspirational, truly amazing stories from seven Mancunians.

The event is based on the principle that as human beings we love stories. Wrap any message you like in an engaging story and people will remember you, the story you told and the point behind it.

It’s something we focus on very heavily in our work at Buffalo 7 and it’s why we’ve created an event called 7 Stories.

7 Stories is an evening of 7 everyday people telling their story. It’s not a sales pitch or a presentation. It’s simply people from all walks of life standing up and telling a room full of people a story for 15 minutes.”

Come and join an evening of stimulating tales on Thursday 7th June, at LEAF on Portland Street.

The exclusive event will feature six inspirational tales from everyday people, and one keynote speech from Dominic McGregor, Co-Founder & COO, Social Chain.

Stories of success. Of hope. Of triumph through adversity. Stories of real local characters and their extraordinary lives. Stories that give Manchester its strength.

Dominic McGregor of Social Chain said: “It is famously said that change is the only constant. As we grow up and develop, change happens all the time. To make a change in your life is difficult. It is widely documented the impact toxins have on our body from drugs, smoking and alcohol. The route of identifying and attempting to overcome one of these addictions either ends one of two ways. Either you reach sobriety, or the addiction defeats you.

I found myself in this situation. At 22 after starting a business which had raised millions in investment, working with some of the biggest brands in the world, I fell into a long battle with my mental health. Anxiety began to take control of me. This resulted in heavy alcohol abuse.

Change had to occur.

The cycle of change I went through took me from the brink of giving up the business I had founded, through therapy, to the present day where the business is now on the roadmap to IPO and I’m on the path to happiness.

This is the story i’ll be telling.”

Tickets for 7 Stories cost just £10 (food and drink included), but will sell out quickly, so reserve yours now.
